NRA-Personal Protection in the Home Class (PPITH) - 18 October 2025

Prerequisite: Complete the NRA or Pathfinders Basic Pistol Class. 

 This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate.  This class is a NRA certified program of instruction that requires all students to have completed the Basic Pistol Class before registering. The class is about 8 hours long and includes both classroom and range operations. Only 8 students will be seated in the class. Five students are required to hold the class. Students will need to have a pistol, 38 cal/ 9 mm or above, 100 rounds of ammunition, and eye and ear protection.  Please see the Additional Information Section Below.
